You will study interpersonal communications, childhood development, behavior management and program planning. In addition, you'll learn teaching strategies that use drama, math, science, play and arts and crafts. You will also receive First Aid and CPR certifications as well. As part of this program, you will observe experienced Early Childhood Educators in the field and then apply your newly developed skills during eight weeks of practicum.
After completion of the coursework, you must gain an additional 500 hours of field experience required for licensing. Upon completion of the first ECE module, you can apply for an assessment letter to become an Assistant through the Early Childhood Education Registry.
